Why Social Selling is a Joke

Today I spoke with a woman who reached out to me for coaching.

She was recently hired as a salesperson at a multi-billion dollar company.

She is one of 70 reps in her branch office. They have thousands nationwide.

She received five weeks of product training.

She was given a list of qualifying questions and told to go sell.

She was not given any training on how to get a meeting.

She has a $40,000 base salary and has been on the payroll for three months.

She has not been able to schedule a single sales meeting.

Her manager insists the key to success is ‘Sending a quote to everyone you talk to and see what sticks!

When people ask me how I feel about social selling I reply there are bigger and more basic problems to work on.
